I believe it is the Volume Selector. It makes it so that it selects vertices or faces that are contained within a specific volume(box, sphere, cylinder, etc).
Great Idea! But if floater will have some thickness and contain any panel breaks (inner extrusions), will they overlapped with the main shape and disappear in it? Or I just don't get it well?
Yeah, Wirrexx has the right idea, you want to try and keep all the distortion contained in a small area, that way it's not noticeable. That's the reason you're getting that distortion, it's from the long stretched polys you have connecting up too the sharp bevel
Hi everyone!! I'm modeling ths piece and i'd like to ask you how would you model the tiny holes that the big one contains on it. This piece is going to be baked and imported to UE4 so i know i'll do the holes' normal map in photoshop or maybe designer and then applying a material in painter but i'm interested in the way…
Those dirty loops don't contain any real new information for most of their length; if they only provide support at the corners and are merely verts on a straight line made up of equally straight edges, then no problem. Only thing I can see that's blaringly obvious is the outermost edges are far sharper than the other ones,…
Hey, someone give me tip or fast way to make this (cylinder intersects round surface?) I saw a article in Blaizer blog and started to follow. BTW, the step manual fixing boolean between cylinder & round surface is quite unefficient. Can u give some tip about that~ I've done some part, images below... That's a part contains…
Hi All, I'm trying to make this form which is part of a drill press. I'm having issues with one of the areas during smoothing after bevelling. The problem area is actually hidden in the final model, but if I know it's there then I won't be able to move on from it. Apologies for the number of images. The form before any…
Thank you so much. Can I ask you what segments you used for the two regular spheres? I could not for the life of me to get them to match. Did you have to scale up the size of the sphere that is doing the cutting(the clear one in your picture). For me, whenever I get the segments to match the top of the sphere, the side of…
