1) Blizzard. Epic was always a one trick pony. 2) Ut3 wasn't exaclty a rousing success, and if it wasn't for the engine tech and licensing epic wouldn't be the big powerhouse we know.
btw i would just like to say i don't have a problem at all with colorfullness; i hate the sepia and monochrome fad immensely. what pisses me off about diablo3 is the low-tech graphic engine.
Illusions: I'll hate them if they do that. Necro is too cool to replace. :( Also I wouldn't bet on the "more people being able to play" aspect. Don't know the tech specs, but all of those effects and creatures probably aren't as graphics friendly as all that. Better than Crysis of course. :P
Oh man I'm gonna have to buy a nice stock of disposable mice before this comes out, so many monsters to click on repeatedly! Looks great, the presentation in Paris sounded really nice, they sure know how to announce a product. I'm surprised there seems to be no normals maps (despite Starcraft 2 having them), which isn't a…
so we patiently wait many years for hardware to advance to the point where we can get graphics better than the previous games but without prerendered sprites and then they decide to just apparently use the World of Warcraft or Warcraft 3 graphic engine. i am totally sick of PC game developers holding human progress back by…
I'm surprised people are making the negatives about technology and art style they have. I work with good technology, my company has a solid reputation for pushing tech and graphics but I dont think D3 and Blizzard are less than us because they're using tech that doesn't utilize normal maps and 2048 sized textures. If…
Hot fucking shit. I didn't play the previous games too much, but I had a ton of friends who did and still do. This one looks fucking amazing. I got 18 boners at once. I absolutely love the art style. I'm with everyone like Daz who doesn't understand why you'd be mad that it is painted rather than generated. Another example…
Jack you're calling me somewhat "dumb"... words hurt man, words hurt a lot... :P I actually think there is gonna be some big upgrades to the visual look as the game continues to develope, and I actually do think they'll get in more "next gen" tech that will hopefully push the detail, but still keep the painterly style.…
