Judging by the viral marketing it has not only a good campaign, but is almost a sure lock on for a good bad movie at least. This type of movie is very very hard to fuck up in my opinion. Either it's great, it's good, or it's terrible and fun to watch in order to make fun of. All of those variants are satisfactory.
The trailer was a little messy for my tastes and didn't reveal much more than what we already know. I'll still go and see this film in the theaters because it looks like a fun film. -caseyjones
Yeah. I think the idea is that this hype is fun for people, in and of itself. It's like a scavenger hunt. We all have good reason to be cynical, but regardless of the movie's actual quality, they've nailed the pre-experience experience for those interested in that sorta thing. The trailer looks great too.

So, we should have all seen this trailer before Transformers. It's J.J. Abram's new movie dubbed 'Cloverfield'. I've spent the past couple hours reading up on it all, and there's just so much to take in already. For us Lost fans, this seems to be right up our alley, at least all the mystery so far. Giant monster movie?…
Blaugh! I'm not sure of the origin of this image. It might just be fan art, but one can hope. Someone posted some interesting speculative info on my forum which was ripped from somewhere else. I shall continue the trend and dump it here: __________________ Little monsters: Many people speculated before the second trailer…
The trailer looked pretty hot. If this does turn out to be a good Cthulhu movie, then yeah, I may need to be tranquilized or something. Alot of the text on that blog does seem to line up with alot of mythos stuff, like the war on earth between old gods and whatnot. My only hope is they don't puss out and that they give it…
