   In could be that you just needed to increase the weld threshold? Down in the lower right there is a weld setting you can adjust, you might need increase that number so it widened the area it looks for verts to weld. Ahh chuggnuts tools, well that could be a problem if you are using max9? I didn't install chuggnuts tools…
