I really enjoyed the multiplayer in COD 1. Relaxed realism along with excellent map layouts with lots of flanking routes and choke points made for some really fun gameplay. I enjoyed COD2 over COD1... the added 'realism' in the way the damage was delt slowed the game down and it felt more real. Close range combat, IRL, with SMG's and the like would almost mean certain death. Just don't get in close-range combat -

Yeah, I always preferred COD1 multiplay to COD2... for the same reasons you mentioned, Ryno Kinda worrying how things fall off like that, I felt the same about battlefield... BF1942 was (and still is) intensely fun, Vietnam was still pretty good, then BF2 was just more of the same, and BF2142 just feels empty and boring… -

I think it is a common marker of franchise over extension and even a sign of franchise death when an WW2 shooter makes the jump to future or modern combat... Yeah Adam, I think it's just a matter of taste. I like faster-paced gameplay. I hate having to sit and wait, and would prefer to outsmart and outmaneuver someone while attacking aggressively. comon guys it's hammer and sickle .. the entire trailer filmed with a russian voice in the background spitting wartime propaganda "the time has come to show our strength" "we are afraid of nothing" I figure it's a coldwar setting with 3 campaigns; american, arab and soviet. -

I'm just going to assume everything in the trailer is prerendered, so i'm not dissapointed when it comes out. Modern warfare isn't boring, my no. At least, it doesn't look like it from the trailer. Call of Duty 5 should totally be a civil war game. That'd be sweet. Muzzle loaders, cannons, bayonets. Heh -

This looks great. Infinity Ward did a great job with the COD franchise - some of the best FPS moments in my opinion - and I can't wait for this. -
