First off would be the 50mm 1.8, which you can get new for about $95 USD. I got mine from B&H not sure if you have an equivalent store like that. Its a prime lense, fixed focal length so you will have to "zoom with your feet" but like i said before is the sharpest lens you could possibly buy, its also small and light so it…
What would you recommend for texture photographing? (so many lenses to choose from hehe). Also, what does the MM mean? I mean, bigger mm = more zoom? Edit: I also bought the 35-105mm lens And, heres the camera
Hope I dont ruin the threads awesomeness, but are are some of my shots with the olympus om-1 (best film slr ever? in my opinion yes) and lomo smena 35- yes its a lomo but not lomography! plus I pciked it up for a tenner, I would never EVAR pay 200 plus for it. firstly the smena 35 a very very fun camera if you find it for…
HP5, om-1 35-70mm falmouth, cornwall. Just playing with curves in PS. not finished peices too much post processing for me, might post up the ones I consider right. I still cant tell if these are good shots though, been staring at them for a while.
Primes, the way it's meant to be played :p Yeah the nifty fifty would be a good starting point, and after that decide whether you want to go wider or longer. My favourite lens from my canon kit is the 35 1.4L, a bit expensive but it does everything I need it to do well :)
Testing out my new Sigma EX DG 24mm 1.8 wooooo! Hey Ben you should be pleased, its a ~35mm <2.0 lens! I found myself not really using the Sony 35/1.8 but using the Quantaray 24/2.8 quite a lot, so I'm selling both to pay for this guy.
I actually got a cheap($35?) canon monopod from B&H, that I like a lot. Much better than carrying a tripod IMO. Really if you get a body that can shoot 3200-6400 with decent quality, and 12800 for emergencies, coupled with a fast lens like the 50 1.8, that should suit you for most shooting situations.
That first shot Paul .... damn :) The films that you use for that camera are not the regular 35 mm films are they? Are those hard to get? do they still make them? I have a friend that owns one of those cameras and it just need a bit of work on it which may not be expensive. I think the shutter can't close fast enough for…
The only film slr you ever want- Olympus Om-1 with a D.Zuiko lens (i have a 35-70 which I used for these and a 50mm prime and Im looking into a 25mm). I use old expired film because I can pick up 10 for £10 (normally asa 200-400 ) which might change the outcome. Nothing like the feeling of firing off a shot with an Om-1
