The plaque blends into the rock, it looks like it is made of rock itself. Probably make it iron, bronze, or copper. Iron will rust and leave streaks on the rock, copper turns green (I'm not sure if it will leave green streaks or not), and bronze tends to darken as it ages. Otherwise, it's pretty cool looking
I like it, I'm a huge fan of the hard-edged style, but you really seem to lose it at the base of the rock. The texture starts to deviate too far from the geometry... Do you plan to put foliage, mud, or dirt or whatnot to sink it into the level? You might want to get a little of that on the base of the rock in texture.…
Wonderful rock now. Plus you taught me something re the smooth bruch I flat out spit tea out my nose after I saw the guy "holding on." All things serious, that's one of the best real time rocks I've ever seen.
Very nice! only thing i can see is that you didn't make a copy of the diffuse and ps filter it into a normal map and over lay it slightly (15-25%)onto the rock normal map. This way all the diffuse little bumps give little bits of interest to the rock.
bitmap, your idea sounds perfectly fitting. I was near the finish making my portfolio presentation of the rock but your idea seemed to be too great to not include that in the finish. thx
