Just to pimp my own scripts. http://www.juantwo.com/2006/04/epolycounter-v-10.html Also, if you are just getting into low poly characters, try making one about 3K total tris. Half in the head, and half in the rest of the body. Also try keeping the polies evenly distributed in the whole model.
