When you export to FBX from Max it creates a file with different animation tracks (Take001 is the first track by default). Does anyone know how to export so that you can have different animations exported into different "takes". I would be more than happy to use some other tool to merge animation tracks from different…
From what he said I think he used the SDK to write an exporter from something else he is using, but he is a Mac guy who uses Maya and something else I think. I just came on the job as a contractor, so he was already doing his own thing.
You might have to massage it in Motion Builder, the "home" app of the FBX format. What are you importing into that requires named tracks? Usually we just set frame ranges, using numbers.
Yeah, I know. It's being imported into a game and the programmer has already implemented code based on the track style format. We are probably going to use seperate files for the different animations at this point. I think he didn't believe me that there was no obvious solution.
