People throw SS2 and Deus Ex in the same boat for the fact that they had VERY similar inventory systems, and in both you "purchased" special abilities, as well as leveled up with certain attributes. Postal 2 closer to DX than SS2? Blasphemy!
Deus Ex 1 and System Shock 2 are particularly incredible in that they're such similarly engrossing FPS games, with very similar styles and released less than a year apart. Even the design style and artistic direction look nearly the same. If you liked one, you'll probably like the other.
