1. Mental Ray Tutorials and .mi

   Hey, I'm trying to learn Mental Ray so I downloaded the book tutorial from the mental ray site, but it just gave me a zip filled with a bunch of .mi files and a few other ones. Anyone know what .mi is for and how I can use it? Or know of other tutorials for it? Thanks.

   Digitaltutors.com has a DVD on it and some free tutorials up. One of my previous coworkers bought the DVD and he seemed happy with it. It's Maya oriented, though (not sure what your app is). Rendering tools are much more frequently discussed over at CGTalk and Highend3d.com.
