Yeah, south beach is by far a better diet plan than Atkins. You can't deny your body what it needs - it will just overcompensate some other way. South beach starts similarly to atkins, but transforms after week 2. After that, you can eat pasta, bread, potatoes, etc - albeit in controlled portions.
