hey guys, I'm having trouble with the uv relax tool in max 8. It doesn't seem to be relaxing stuff evenly. Just trying it on a single poly will relax it to the wrong shape. max 8 relax owns microcan.. So no need for that one imo. Maybe try reset x-form for the model? sounds like it has some messed up transformations when the poly's act up like that. You can also try hack it and flip the uv-piece in the uv editor and then relax
Try also to flip your UVs, Max have a bug and screw the relax process when UVs are fliped for some reasons, fliping them makes it works like a charm =)
make sure you are in relax by face, and not edge angle, i find that makes it work a lot better, i personaly prefer max 8's over deep uv,, mostly just because of not haivng to deal with 2 programs, i verry rarely have any issues in max where it won't work
thanks for the responses guys. Neither of those seemed to work though motives. Luckily, the object isn't too complex so it isn't a huge deal doing it by hand, just bit more tedious
