Blargh, I tried to learn blender but my horrible attention span dragged me kicking to hl2. I needz to try, though. Any good tutorials for blender, primarily for low poly junk? I like low poly models, but suppose I should learn high poly (after I learn low)
because blender isn't powered mostly by clicking visible buttons but with hotkeys. It's easy and cool once you spend at least 10 minutes just to focus on messing up a box and familiarizing with it.
Oh, and if your looking for a good free app, I'll second what Cheapy has said about Blender, it's an excellent tool, and once you learn it, you can model very fast with it.
Wings 3d seems nice. I've modeled a bit with it. Apperatnly its uv unwrap features are some of the best and it's for free. I have to agree about blender,it makes me angry looking at it. How do you manage cheapy?
Wings is great for a pure modeler/unwrapper. I think it's about as good as it gets for box modeling workflow. Blender is probably a more flexible choice in the long run though, seeing as it has animation and such. I've chosen to stick with Wings because I find that the nonexistant interface is the best approach for me…
