hey bumping this up - i had a question with the latest version of the xnormal app: (3.16.4.30881) What are the most optimal and efficient settings (in results and time) for the ambient occlusion baking in this particular version - i seem to be waiting and staring at the 'rendering' bar for ages, then still getting a crappy…
The toolkit and the SDK aren't needed really.... although the SDK contains some interesting CUDA examples hehe ( I love specially the nbody, particles and fluids ). Only the 174.55 beta drivers are needed... and notice the good WQHL ones don't support CUDA2 yet. Btw, to compare fairly the speed you need to disable the…
xNormal 3.10.3 released! - Revamped ambient occlusion. Now you can use cages/ray distance to control the AO ray length. New adaptive method ( increased render speed ). Added AO bias to solve some self collision problems. Added new Random(dirty) distribution. Added "bent normals" generation for PRT - Added min/max…
Turn on the "show lowpoly tangents" to see the normals on these vertices... If are unwelded then you must see different normals and tangent basis for them ( like very similar axis in a bunch ). edited: YES, i see that too... When I turn the show tangent basis I see you must weld them better and sure UV's are welded too!…
