If you understand python you could look at this thread: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74251&page=2 or you could ask rebb how he did it.
[ QUOTE ] Blender got a lot of exporters but can you please make Xnormal support the .blend format? [/ QUOTE ] I was trying to support Ogre3D and Blender for the next version... But i'm not sure on Blender... I think they use a super-slow Python thing which gonna be a pain to import/export a 4M poly mesh.
Currently, it's not possible but perhaps you could use the batch mode ( setup the .xml files and render passing them to the command line ). There are also some useful batchers for Maya/max/standalone written in python, etc... We have some listed in our FB/Twitter/blog. That's a thing we want to improve in future releases…
Open a console, go to the xn's installation folder (+\x86 or \x64) and put this: xNormal.exe -? It will show all the commands. BAsically, save some XML files(using xNormal, a text editor or programatically) and pass them as command arguments. You can also execute the Simple GPU AO tool from the command line. For xn4 I'm…
Don't worry. I'll use key scan codes to solve that and azerty/dvorak will work properly. I think I'm gonna add a Maya exporter/importer for the next version, yep. The SBM and OVB formats are public and very simple. If you(or a programmer near you) know python, would be not very difficult to create a small script to read…
That's one of the thing I wanna change drastically for xn4. You should be able to select a bunch of meshes in the scene. Then you can make layers, define if you want the mesh X to cast AO over the mesh Y but not over the mesh Z, etc... Also to render a normal map for the meshes I and J and, at the same time, render an AO…
I coded the convexity, proximity and thickness based on the indications of some Valve artists... but i'm not completely sure what are they for or if they are useful really. ok, consider it done. Well, I really need to finish a 3D engine before ( I calculate 3 months ). Then I could start the xn4's development by the end of…
