Yep, for both ray tracing and dual parameterization methods. Floating point precision is also supported using OpenEXR/TIFF FP/Raw/HDR formats. See the spiked ball example, I used that to perform DX10's tessellation with bended spikes/mushrooms/ears without having to perform Catmull/Loop subdivision.
You are getting a skewed bake because the the rays are being averaged along the length of the object. To control this, you need to add some loops close to the edges of the affected parts, which will give you a better bake :) Just a quick paintover to show what I mean...you will have to add some more in other parts, but you…
tried this ini setting also. but no luck what i have seen is, that the agents become a task from my ip. then after some seconds they discard it but still working for my ip with nothing and get a new working for my ip. this one loops also, after 10 minutes the entire line is spammed for all agents with working for ip....…
You know what would be a cool feature is if xNormal could accept a lowpoly mesh which could be subdivided a certain amount of times by xNormal without having to be loaded into view. So you can set your low resolution mesh up with all the loops you need for it to subdivide correctly. Check an option in the high def mesh…
Awesome job getting the average normals on hard edge thing working Santi!!! Just had a go and it seems to work very nicely. EQ: I hadn't thought of just rendering both methods then combining them in Photoshop. Genius!! The way I usually fix the distortion is adding extra "support" edges along the hard edge when I bake to…
hello jogshy ! We talked on the silo forum... so how is catmult clark implementation going ? I've found plenty interesting source code and start to explore this myself! I hope you are having a lot of fun ! [ QUOTE ] I'm going to implement: 1) Micro Triangle Displacement. That will allow you to specify a displacement map…
[ QUOTE ] I was hoping to import a high poly model and apply a bump map to it in xNormal, and have the final result used to bake the normal map. Is this possible? I had a look in the documents and the fine detail map seemed to just be a map that is placed over the normal map and blended in, not actually applied to the high…
[ QUOTE ] I thought your installer would update my old version but it put itself in another dir so I was still running the previous version. [/ QUOTE ] In theory I should add the DX9 to the installer, yep.. but I didn't want to add other 60Mbs to the package... so had to remove that and the .NET 2.0(other 50Mbs) from the…
[ QUOTE ] - How about different speeds for the rotations of ReelC and ReelL? Not vital, but would be nice. [/ QUOTE ] Easy [ QUOTE ] - A turntable recording function would be nice, capable of both exporting it as individual images for composing in After Effects/Premiere/etc, and for example an uncompressed AVI. [/ QUOTE ]…
