i've had the same problem with the ao map generation. was able to do a 512 map without a prob, but tried 2048 and it froze on me twice. using x86 on single core intel proc, win xp, default scanline renderer. edit: forgot to mention--love this program!!! thanks so much!
Not sure how to describe this, but I'm getting some really weird results out of xnormal. I did a hipoly sculpt in sculptris and used xnormal successfully (the 1024 file attached) but later decided it needed more work. I resculpted from scratch, and the mapping went all to hell. I did remap the UVs but that didn't help…
[ QUOTE ] I have the same issue in the viewer with the most recent download. I can not see my models. If I turn on cage, normals etc they show up. The ui and the grid displays fine. I am running on a laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with all the latest [/ QUOTE ] You are using the DX9 graphics driver, aren't you?…
Hi All, I'm using X-Normal, I've followed Matt Corcoran's tut and I'm still getting a lot of weird artifacts and other errata. I'm posting my views of the cage, the high poly and the low poly and what I'm getting out the other end of X-Normal. Any ideas on why I'm getting problems? Thanks for your help and advice. Here is…
New tracer is nice and fast and I much prefer this new layout of settings (although I wish there was a drop-down selection box for output map sizes - like 512, 1024, 2048 just so I don't have to type it every time ) However I found the new version keeps crashing after one render... I have 2 OBJ files for high and low, and…
Some interesting things have been happening regarding GPU acceleration. Some people over at Luxrender have been experimenting with OpenCL rendering. http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2947&p=28569&hilit=opencl#p28569 I remember that there were some interesting elements of your CUDA implementation.…
Tried out 3.16 on my new machine. Quad core 6600, geforce 8800 512, 8 gigs of ram. Quality of ao seems quite a bit better now that it was in older versions, but it also seems a lot slower too? Cuda renderer seems to be pretty slow as well. Was expecting a pretty big increase with my new system but didnt really see it.…
It's correct then. Question: can you render the Smiley example's AO ( 2k x 2k, tile size 512 ) using the Optix renderer? If you get that out of memory error then it's a driver's problem ( well, or beta problem ). If the smiley example renders ok then it's a real out of memory error... so you could try to subdivide a bit…
