I think the mirrors may be acting evil, I can't seem to download the latest version anymore. It will complete @ 75.5mb, then gives an error saying either the download timed out from the site (IE), or the file is not complete (firefox). this has been happening all day today, and yesterday (3-23, 24) I just started using…
@velesius : That sounds like a graphics driver problem, the n-th bug of WinXP 64 ( perhaps caused by a Windows Update's patch ) or a problem with some theme. Btw... are you sure your graphics mode is set to 24 or 32 bits and not 16? @EarthQuake : The preview does not show the background color, because the .NET bitmaps…
[ QUOTE ] I want to bake ao for different low poly Houses. At the moment i test something about 450 rays, it´s still calculating. I just imported the house as fbx with the parts mapped i need. Windows for exampel are still there but with no UV information [/ QUOTE ] xNormal was initally designed to project the highpoly AO…
Some advices: 1. Which output format are you using? The JPG is a lossy format. BMP/TGA/PNG only supports 8 bits of precision. Ideally, you should output the normal/displacement maps using TIFF(FP32) and let your engine to deal with the quality reductions. 2. Use object space maps for non-deformable meshes. TS ones require…
[ QUOTE ] I'm having the same problem... for the life of me I can't seem to get a decent AO map. I've tried everything I can think of, the angle, renderer... the normal map is beautiful but the ao is posterized and has hard edged shadows. I'm wondering if it might be my card or something [/ QUOTE ] By default it puts 24…
Okie, I am preparing a v3.2.1 mwahahah! Will add that multimonitor button and the windowed thing, no problem. About the AO: 1)AO speed is a pain, aye. Think I have to cast 256x more rays than normal mapping. That's a lot. The fast values are from 24 to 100. For quality 100-500. For film 1000+. xNormal atm is 0.000000%…
You should change to the 3.16.6 because the previous versions have a strange bug that misaligns the normal map and the AO map. About the settings you mention: I use 32 for a very faaaast test. 64 for fast but better test. 128 for medium quality. 256/512 for quality. 1024+ for final result. For testing, of course, don't use…
