This model was made from photographs of the original canister. The bottom of the canister was painted so as not rusted, painted upside down, paint flowed)) :poly121:

@Sveen - crazy hot, awesome paint job! Do you paint entirely in Photoshop is some of the work done in a 3d painting app? You hide the seams well, would love to see UVs and wires. Great work!
Cheers to the guys that addressed my question. @DemonPrincess - Yeah I understand that, sometimes it's just nicer/easier to paint at double the res and downscale it. I imagine the best way to do it is to paint at double, rescale and then continue painting / tweaking to get the result you want.
drelecto: I'd go with vividly hand painted (like Mr_Drayton pointed out), it's sort of the 'in' style for dungeon crawlers these days and will probably get your game more attention. The textures right now are very monochromatic. If you need help painting in that style check out the 3DMotive hand painted tutorial.
