Alright so this guy still needs A LOT of work, I've had quite a hard time transitioning back and forth between my more realistic art and my more stylized art, its giving me a pain. But this should be the last stylized character I have to do for awhile. Anyways, thoughts?
Making some stylized stuff for a friends mobile/tablet game :) Is the first time I've really played around with diff only assets, and it's quite fun so far :)
Pretty much the first 3D thingthang I've done that's worth showing. I'm already familiar with other sorts of game art, but I had this Unity3D idea that's gonna require me to learn some stylized modeling.
Thanks J! That's a good call, going to play with. I think that will help break it up a bit. Awesome little dude as well, absolutely love the stylized approach. I hope you find the time to do a few more!
You could easily cut down the texture size with that level of detail. Mirror all the edges that already have that 'worn-away' look to the sides, and then mirror both large sides. If anything, it could look more stylized at 64x64.
Tysho I would suggest equally spaced edges. And control the smooth bends using weights. This way you will have soft bends. But maybe you can manage to get a stylized animation the way it is (or the way lean said) I like your texture painting!
