Hey guys, I've been doing a little animation recently and I've been wasting lots of time changing all my animation keyframe tangents from bezier curves to stepped keys. When I was trying out the max8 trial, I noticed this little icon nestled in among the animation buttons at the bottom: This button does not exist in Max7,…
Fordy is correct. Defaults are set there. Only need to set one TCB and one Bezier, all the rest in the list use the same settings. Then when you add a new key, it uses those defaults, depending on which controller type you're using.
Hi MoP Just had a quick look in the preferences and on the animation tab there are the controller defaults, im not entierly sure if this is what your after. There are a load of controller in there that can be edited (click Set Defaults, choose a controller and click Set) I am more than likely talking a load of bollox…
Ahh, thanks guys! What Fordy and EricChadwick said is what I was looking for. That's actually the first place I looked, but all I did was click "Set Defaults", and just saw a list of things that seemed unrelated, so I closed it - if I'd just clicked once more I'd have found what I was looking for!
That flyout sets the tangent type for newly created keys, it doesn't change existing keys. But it pretty easy to change existing keys, just select them in the track view and click one of the tangent type buttons along the top of the track view window.
there is a script for max4 and up, on scriptspot http://www.scriptspot.com/download.asp?ID=1069 that allows mass changes to keys, but I would think there might be something better in max7
