I still recommend Blender, i used to be a hardcore milkshape user but I could only make shit models with milkshape, I then switched to blender and I AM IMPROVING DRAMATICALLY LOL! My gargoyles models are actually praised now and I can use quads finally and understand more advanced modeling criticism with Blender.…
You should stop right there and save yourself a lot of pain. Box modelin in Milkshape is awfully tedious and slow. Wings or Blender are so much more advanced you'll never ever want to work with Milkshape again.
i still have nightmares of that one time, long ago, when i tried out blender... my god the image of that gui is still burned to the back of my eyeballs... i'd recommend getting maya PLE or 3ds' gmax or softimage's mod tool / experience.
I'd try to work with Blender (www.blender.org) instead unless you have some pressing reason to use Milkshape. Better make sure you learn box modeling (or any other form of primitive-based style) first, vert-by-vert will hurt you later on and with Milkshape it's hard not to go the vert-by-vert way.
the tutorials for the belnder program show alot more easy of modeling. but for some reason i cant get into a zoom like inthe tutorials, all the tutorials dont tel lyou how. for example milkshape you could zoom in...but with the new blender your like 100 feet away, anyone know how to get close up?
