RobG, I have a similar problem happen to me. But like firestarter suggested, its most likely your normals. I have a a script assigned to two buttons which fixes this error. By unlocking and locking normals. Unlock: polyNormalPerVertex -fn true; Lock: polyNormalPerVertex -ufn true; Incase you're not sure how to add buttons…

Bread and Butter stuff - Female NPC (~3000 tris) for stylised game engine - no textures yet, basic diffuse shader only. And at playtime - Blenders discombobulator script with a noise shader.

Been working on this since March. I did all of the scripting for the game. Basically, I integrate all artwork into the game engine. Took this pic from our G2E game show on Wednesday in Vegas. The game is only about 30% done.
Bloom is good for slime and lava surfaces (needs shader bloom through), or for dreamy flashbacks in scripted story telling mode . GL_ext_env_combine (?) - can push the lighting in q2 to another level (i guess its a sort of defuse light(map). But it looks good enough (grrrrr:) - th gun is sexy.
Some new levels, and some new eye candy for my engine. I always liked the Q3A "glass", so I made a very similar type shader effect and hardcoded it into the engine. Next I will implement true shader scripts. http://mods.moddb.com/gallery/3867/
I've managed to kick a 4 month long MMORPG habit (dam you CoH and Wow) and have instead spent some quaility time over the last few weeks with my mod. Still epic ammounts to do, but the big replication monsters have been slain (an unreal script thing).
