@Quasar thanks for your feedback! i agree, it looks a bit strange, and i can see the difference it made when i started applying some more detail on the skirt. i might go back to refine the blouse a little bit too, but in general i can see the improvement!
since i decided to do a full body anyway, i did some work on the shoes today. i looked up some victorian era shoes and pasted them in my reference board. i don't want to overcomplicate the design so i'm pretty happy with the result! last things to sculpt for the lady is her hair strands and some final refinements. then…
alrighty. i changed my mind. i was working on the skirt and i was dragging the skirt down for more area to work with, and then i realized; oh damn. it looks pretty sick if i'd do a full body (so yeah you planted a seed when you suggested extending past the bust @Fabi_G !) or at least the illusion of a full body, since most…
followed up on the anatomy check suggested by the lovely people above! i changed some proportions and i think it does look more believable this way. checked proportions and sketched new approximation in an image editor adjusted proportions and started refining the dress and corset a little bit
did some refining on the hair to give myself a better idea of what the flow and direction of the hair should be. had some cool references of victorian / gothic hairstyles as reference and it amazes me how people got their hair up like this lol. it's a gorgeous look!!
sculpted a sketch of the clothes, added some polypaint to get a bit of a feeling of what it could be. i'm not sure about the shapes of the clothes just yet, and i feel like it just needs a little more refining. which is what i'll do next! but so far, pretty happy with how this is turning out :)
@Fabi_G thanks for your input! I'm not planning to extending it past the bust, since i'm trying to focus on some other things, mainly stylization and later on texturing and hard surface stuff (i want to add the gun and necronomicon when i finish the vampy lady). and yeah, i'm definitely going back to see if i can adjust…
