pico is a really good shout but it's actually not that 'easy' unless you're already able to write code. definitely start with something simple - and by that i mean very small scope as opposed to the technology - ie space invaders/flappy bird etc. use an engine or at the very least a mature framework - i've written small… -

The path into game development really depends on where you're starting from. Some people start with an idea or thing they want to see in a game and learn skills as they go. that is a question only you can answer, really new tech / software always comes with the risk of not working as intended, nobody here can tell you if its worth the risk taking.especially at your experience level my suggestion would be start small on a well documented system, if modding isnt your jam. grab an engine or game… -
