I don't know why this is happening, i tried looking for a solution on the internet, but i can't find anything about this. It only happens when i hit "tri-planar projection" As you can the UV as projected onto the 3D model. Thank you for your time.
i think you're triplanar projecting your mask texture onto the object - this is expected behaviour . you want to use triplanar projection on noises etc. and normal UV projection for anything you've painted onto the object UVs
