Needs horns, eyes, eyebrows, etc - pretty happy to have the basemesh in UE5 though. Face is 1k, body 2k, wings + tail 2k. The months of sculpting paid off I think. 2 down, 2 more races to go. https://youtu.be/S7BFdypG2YE Have a great week!
Ya man, just on that sigma grindset and there's no stopping - Added scales- Added more scales- Added even more scales-Felt sorry for my tablet for hand drawing each individual scale - Did some face and butt reshaping Have a great week!
Finished up the back of the wings, at least until I start polishing everything with alphas. Inner wings mostly done I'd reckon, until alphas as well. Cleaned up and made the scales around the face and neck smaller; this will apply to all areas with higher levels of articulation. Bonus Turntable!…
Last week I used consistent references (nsfw) to improve the human female basemesh. It's still damn hard to make something that doesn't feel uncanny, but It's just a matter of learning and forming the neural connections and muscle memory that will enable me to 'see' what works and what doesn't. Ideally over the years I'll…
Every time I think I'm ready for the next step, I see areas that can be improved upon. Especially so after adding polypaint, which revealed a lot of flaws. Waking up in the morning with fresh eyes and opening Zbrush for the first time of the day also really helps in revealing flaws. When you work on something for hours on…
While the face has good subdiv, I want to go back and add some supporting geometry for the ears and neck in particular, and possibly arms and legs too. Nostrils and the smile line could use some geo rework as well. https://youtu.be/gS2l1T4tqj0 Have a great week!
As much as I like this design, I think there's a disconnect between the abyssal and the semi-stylised face shapes of the human. I can't put my finger on the why but I think it's something to do with the detail and noise over the abyssal vs the clean shapes of the human. I do really like the colours though
Wasn't a very productive week, had stuff to do. Hopefully I can get more done this week. Changed the face because of two reasons; the first iteration has too many moving parts that I'd have to rig and animate. Secondly I don't think it was relatable enough. Have a great week!
Removed the heavy scale detail from the face, we got a bit too horny last week; removed unnecessary horns that would interfere with clothing and armour systems. Worked on better horn>hard scales>soft scales>skin transition. Reworked head and neck scales to be less pointy and jagged. forearms were tedious, wings were a…
Redesigned the infested race, the large bulbous egg carrier in the back plus head tubes/tentacles would've been too annoying to clothe, armour, and there would be animation clipping with furniture. I've replaced them with thin fungal appendages that can move and animate, and that take up the same area as the vampire race…
