   don't think you going to get a script to do what you want. just a simple t junction would be a nightmare to sort in code. Be quicker to just create new spline by hand over the existing font. Besides max doesn't really let you weld non adjacent knots. So your looking for some kind of tracing... something 2d photoshop or…
