I have yet to see any real explanation for why the team was let go, and I’m somewhat hesitant to assume it’s because take 2 thinks gen ai is a bad bet. When I first saw Luke’s post I had that same thought of “oh good, it’s happening” but dug in a bit more. There’s responses and likes of his in the past that call out gen AI… -

Testing image to 3d AI, right 2 are AI images from Pinterest, left 2 are images by concept artists (originals shared below). All images were processed in Gemini to get desired results in free version of 3d AI tool. Looks like someone took screenshot and ran them through a genAI to make them "more realistic". The face look really different and the image overall inconsistent. Why do they believe wetter/shinier face are better exactly? Until now I always praised DLSS as a good usage of AI, guess that came to an end. -

I really don't have an issue with DEI but I do feel that I should share my perspective on it if it came up in conversation. I actually benefit from it since I'm a visible minority, but I don't really feel good about it since there are others more diverse than me that could really use the initiatives, for example people… -
