Hey guys, thank you all very much for your support! I'll try not to let you people down. ;) Still, I'm going to take my time with this since coding is not the most relaxing task. Expect some more art related updates in between the more technical ones. By the time I get close to finishing the clothing on my character, I…
@Irensay Thanks man! Ok, I'm done coding... for now. I could not wait any longer to get back to sculpting! I left my plugin in a rather rough and buggy state... But don't worry: I'm just letting my brain rest for a little while. I've been working on her jeans for a few hours now. Still very much wip (the belt and shoes are…
@zhaowen3 Sorry... I deleted all of my source code by mistake. No more plug-in. Just kidding. When I'll have something worthwhile to share, I'll be sure to show that of. @carvuliero That wasn't part of my plan... lol Maybe I should just split the thread so that those who aren't interested in the character art can…
Hey guys, it's been some time since the last update. I've been in a journey! :) So, this is what I was ranting about in my last post: I've been working on a Maya plugin that takes a MD mesh as an input and spits out a full-quad version of it. Many of you may be familiar with the ZRemesher+TransferAttributes workflow.…
I'm still texturing stuff but as I was starting to feel very unsatisfied with the way the hair used to look, I decided to rework the hair shader code. I think the new shader is doing a far better job overall. Yet, I think I'll have to work more on the hair geometry sooner or later. Also, I implemented a very much needed…
I remember following your progress with this months ago, and she turned out great. Awesome work, Jacopo. What makes this crazy that it's rendered in your own engine, instead of Marmoset or UE4. How can you be so damn good with both character art and programming at the same time? You must be one of those game dev gods! You…
I'm now working on the raincoat lowres model while assessing some of the challenges to come. The raincoat will have to be cabable of transitioning between a few different states (hood up/down, zip/unzip). That implies a few interesting technical problems that I'll have to solve...
I worked a bit more on the hands lately: Also, I've widen up her shoulders just slightly cause I realised they were very narrow compared to her head. Other than that, the body didn't change a lot aside from some minor tweaks here and there. Soon I'll be in "testing mode" with clothing once again.
@FourtyNights Thank you, man! Really appreciated! Been good at many things comes with a catch though: one's ability to focus gets spreaded over many things. So it takes longer to improve or get anything done. While if you focus on just becoming good as a character artist, there is a pretty good chance that you'll…
