I've done a few refinements (central part is a lot more circular now) and spent some time playing around with colours. Just working on the bottom piece and then I will do another pass over the blade as it doesn't really look very metallic at the moment. -

That video is amazing :) You make it look so easy lol I think I'll need to watch that a few times. The first 20 minutes or so are probably more important to me at the moment as I am getting stuck with thinking about where the light is coming from and blocking things out still. Tonight I made a few changes, adding some extra polygons to the blade and removing some from the hand guard. I adjusted the shape of the guard and also increased the size of the blade a bit as I noticed I had made it slightly too small in comparison to the rest of the model.
