@Kyetja Thanks! Yeah, I've gone back and remade the chair to give it more polys. I've been out of town all weekend so I'm hoping to get some more progress and screenshots out tonight if I have time. In regards to texturing, I was really on the fence for which direction to take this being stylized PBR or baking down to…
Ohw damn, these are awesome! I especially dig that chair, although I'd add some poly's there. Since you're planning to get them into UE4 are you going to go for stylized PBR or try and go for purely diffuse maps?
Initial bakes of the diffuse with gradient maps applied. I haven't done any custom painting yet. I plan on getting props to this level so I can reuse gradient maps as needed and color match before finalizing details.
I got more work done this weekend. I have one or two small props to make but I want to start piecing things together in engine. Here are some bakes and then some screengrabs from UE4. I think it looks pretty good with just diffuse textures in the test scene.
I was actually torn on that and might be doing some render tests. I was debating between going with stylized pbr and using substance painter or baking down maps to diffuse and painting with 3d Coat. I think I might do some tests on the books/bookshelf once they're ready and decide from there.
More low poly and initial texture bakes! I redid one of the windows because I was unhappy with how flat the wand variation looked. The top bake image is with normals, ao, and cavity map applied. The bottom diffuse is the merged color base in photoshop. It is shown as unlit albedo only. Also, finished out a small wall shelf…
