   Max does have this function by default since they added the ribbon, no third party scripts needed :) Main UI -> PolyTools -> Smooth Selection

   Hi guys, I used to use the script from Simon Fuchs, that assigns a unique smoothing group to the selected faces in 3ds max. It was super useful to hotkey it!
