I bought an ultrawide with the thought of consolidation of my two 24" 16x10's... it didn't last long due to the aspect ratio of my apps when snapping. I ended up with a 24" 4k on the side. If apps could better remember positions, I would maybe go to a single UW. Another thing is that there aren't any tablets that are in UW…

Just wanted to add that AMD announced the Ryzen 9 3950x, 16 core processor yesterday during their E3 conference. 749$ Price, releases in mid September this year. Also, really appreciate this thread as I'm planning to build a new computer this year! It's been very informative.

Ryzen 3900x is better than 1950x, it is not worth to buy 1950x anymore. New 3900x has really low TDP (Watt) and has amazing single core and multithreaded score. 3900x has less cores than 1950x but has better scores than it.
