So I used the linear clone modifier on the cutter object and that made my object disappear, I start feeling bad. There is no error message. *edit* but the object comes back if insert values in the modifier :) my bad sorry
New feature is live : Cutter can now herit the root object rotations. [Added] Alignement World or Object space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWD4Mp7lhYM
Wow this is great, i didn't expect this much speed for fixing that bug. This is not a bug, but maybe would be better user experience. When i add any cutter object, Create > Geometry tab goes to Compound Objects everytime and i need to select old one again. Is it possible for you to hold current dropdown selection and…
Don't use Array, it creates and deletes objects on the fly without undo records which is incompatible with max Booleans that we're using. If you prefer to use numeric input, you can use Linear Clone modifier (or multiple stacked above each other if you want n-dimensional cloning) or alternatively if you'd for some reason…
Worth noting that while the next two gifs show the modifier variant of the tool, on this first gif it's the object based variant - all the clones are instances of the original object and can be selected and transformed independently - sometimes, you just don't want to have a huge mesh, only clone some stuff. It has the…
That was the first thing I tried but the duplicates didn't cut into the source object. I guess it's a bug then... While I'm here, it'd be nice if you could type in the radius for circle cutters
Right now, there's no offset so in the place of the object is two overlapping meshes (the original and the copy) - this sometimes doesn't play well with booleans but it doesn't make it crash. Set some values in the type-in part.
@endeffect The fix for performance is inside this new build. For the feature request it was really harder than expected but we do have the solution. Selecting the root object after each cutter op will be something of the past soon.
You can have a look at this video https://youtu.be/LVgmBfj8Ivs switch to « Last Clone » instead of First clone and use a « Scène Helper » as Last Clone. Once you move the « Scene Helper » object will re appear
@instg8r Everything will stay live as long as you don’t turn something to Editable Poly or collapse the stack. If you need to sculpt a cutter or the root object you need to add an “Edit poly” modifier. Never collapse, never resetxform it will brake the live boolean edition.
