Just to add some words of explanation, when creating any primitive (built-in, scripted, 3rd-party plugin, anything you configure in the UI/xml config file), it's parameters can be changed during creation by scrolling the wheel while holding shift/alt/ctrl. The obvious choice is changing the segment count (the cutter fillet…
Cathodeus I have the Kinematic Labs plugin. I do not only mean that functionality. There seem to be some other good ideas in Meshmachine. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZPs9CMQPQw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38X-Fm2RioY
@perna As usual, YMMV applies. That said, things like what you pictured only ever happen with non-planar polygons (so for example regular sphere instead of the subdivided box would be clean) and in all the lazercut cutters meshes the polygons are strictly planar.
@s1dK Whatever suits your workflow, I tend to use a very simple chamfer preset (as many other things, only really works from 2017 up - in 2016 the normals are not kept) which does the job in most cases (as shown in the introduction gif, for example) but if it's a complex hero asset, you might want to clean it up.
Yes. A huge amount of Max tools are exposed through Keyhydra and it uses a Wheel Control feature. This means that we can have the interactive speed of Blender tools with Chamfer edges/Bevel/Connect/etc. So for example, you could have these 3 mapped to a single key and when chamfering or connecting use modifier key and the…
I'm no 3D hotshot like some of the artists who've given their feedback here, but my impression upon reading this thread is that you can give very misleading marketing, Cathodeus. First you say "Hard surface artist will love it !", then admit the tools has problems, and finally you start getting defensive: "How do you know…
Hi - It seems like a lot of work wend into whatever this tool is, but after reading the introduction post I honestly don't understand what it is or what it does. And this is coming from someone relying heavily on workflow optimisations, which of course includes heavy use of keyboard shortcuts. If I am not mistaken the main…
"As already said yes the problem you're pointing is real and yes to me it was 5 percent of case on all operations made on all objects i had to do. " The practical examples provided PROVE without doubt that its not production ready, but since you guys are already aware of it i think its cool, altho i personally for ethical…
