@Shaz_Snow Hum ... You shouldn't have to if you use the linear inset sg mode the low and high will have the same tangent space so baking will be perfectly clean [Of course it depend on what you're baking but if it is mechanical peace than what i say is accurate].
I agree with the above. I was really interested in keyhydra for the inset sg and lazercut. I now love those but I also discovered a great tool that shortcuts is. So it really is an advantage for us. I would encourage people to try the whole bundle and really try to understand it. At the beginning I was also a bit…
InsetSg need proper smoothing groups in order to work correctly. When I get .net error exceptions it is almost all the time due to faces without smoothing groups or bad smoothings groups . And modifiers can change the smoothing groups. May I ask you why do you use a turbo smooth. InsetSg workflow does not need turbo smooth…
@Musashidan Yes indeed, linear mode can be used for adding control edges to a sub d modeling workflow. In fact that is the way i was working before InsetSg existed. I was using "Quad modeling + Quad chamfer + TurboSmooth". But now that InsetSG can handle triangles with good results i do sometime nasty geometry that look as…
Quick update, i have sent the "Keyhydra+LazerCut" build to our current client. So some people are already testing it. I've made an how to install "Keyhydra + LazerCut" video @perna The problem you're mentioning will happen on maybe 5 percent of case. It will be solved by autodesk [can be solved easily]. If they don't we…
Just to add some words of explanation, when creating any primitive (built-in, scripted, 3rd-party plugin, anything you configure in the UI/xml config file), it's parameters can be changed during creation by scrolling the wheel while holding shift/alt/ctrl. The obvious choice is changing the segment count (the cutter fillet…
@Occultmonk Thanks for the advices. Allowing our users to use keyhydra without internet connection is my top priority. maybe we will require only one check per build installation. I'm also working on some stuff that will make the effort to find "unofficial" version usless and boring. About the cost, you can think that it…
