You're opening the GA branded contests to any/all artists, regardless of their "community" association, then? That sounds like the best way to make contests accessible by anyone.
Yeah, if i remember correctly with Retrogasm's contest there were only about 50 finished entries. Gav and Haz can talk more about this since it was their baby.
Despite the allegations against Fred and GA, I am thankful for the past DW and CC challenges I got to observe and participate in. I think he handled things improperly at times but I still have lots of fond memories of participating in those contests and meeting a ton of awesome artists along the way. It was just time to…
I rather have a contest like artstation where you get an award from the community. gives you a leg up when it comes to visa applications, which are torturous.
+Infinity, the short film ideas needs to go. Its just a money/energy sink You really need to sit down and separate what you want from what is best for the contests/community.

While I agree the exposure might be moot because of the sheer number of entrants into these sorts of things, it still is cool to be able to see a bunch of…

dude , if you want to make a contest , just make a grounded one , stop all this bullshit , i mean i have grown as an artist with cgchat, polycount etc , and things were simple back then, just...stop man. wow
@Kend Awesome of you to start that thread! Really not cool GA imploded while the contest just started; I want to feel bad for GA but this has been a long time coming, ever since the DWV blowup the site has never managed to recover.
I am really interested in seeing what idea you have that is better than making it an open contest to all artist and let them choose which community they want to fight for. What if someone wanted to fight for r/Gaming? Or Facepunch? Or their niche art group on Facebook? An open call like that sounds way cooler to me than…
