Started creating some of the portraits and they are hard to find the right ones. i have recently tried my hand in substance painter so what do yous think? the left frame is from DDO and the right one is from substance painter, i think the right one is better.
so something a bit like this? im using substance designer for my materials although the texture is being warped just now is that because of the shape not being right?
I'm sorry, I never replied to this. There's a triangular edge to the soot on the right side of the front. This looks like a shading error, because it's such a hard straight diagonal line. It looks like a bit like a low-resolution vertex color artifact.
bit of an update with some of the portraits and as i said before it was pretty hard to find a way to have the real ones from the films but i managed it. some nice gilded frames and the gryffindor logo on the fireplace that i will be fixing because it doesn't look too great right now but now that im using substance painter…

This is coming along great! Lots of nice little details, and good colors overall. It looks a bit odd where the brick above the mantle ends on the diagonal. A bit of geometry detail there would help a lot. Don't just terminate the tiling texture along a hard edge there. Add some brick modeling there. Strange shading error…
