Yep, i did this last year for a realtime visualization. The CAD models just need to be exported with a high resolution so dynamesh creates round shapes out of cylinders etc.. Or do you want to create a lowpoly direclty with z-remesher? That won´t really work.
ok closest i could find was making a menu at the top with proboolean in it, not as fast as a hot key or tool bar but much faster than switcihing the create panels constantly UPDATE well... i thought this worked but even when you select it in a menu it switches the create panel to compound so you still have to switch back…
You can create UV seams by smoothing groups in Max, right ? right ?! Dunno if it's available in vanilla Max or with a script/plugin, but i'm pretty sure there something that does it.
Hey Kary, you were spot on with this.. seems that symmetry created some open edges that I wasn't aware of. Cleaned it up and proboolean worked like charm. thanks for the tip! :)
Break it as in use the "Break" function in the UV editor to separate your selection from the rest of the mesh, creating the UV seam(s). I am not certain what 2017 has as I am not on that version.
@Fansub I dont think its possible in default max and dont know any script. I only know it the other way create smoothing groups from uv shells with for example TexTools. If its possible i realy would love to know.
