So here is my model (bed sheets). I have an extra face right below it and I cannot delete it. I made it bigger for you guys but at first it was really small. I have no idea how that geometry got there. I used nCloth for the bed sheets and it was my first time using it, maybe that's where I screwed up. I tried to separate…
Maya does some crazy things sometimes, it's almost always a user mistake and I've seen this before. It could be anything from locked normals to some weird parenting/grouping issue. I'd duplicate the mesh, clear history and try to delete the duplicated single face.
This, or merging the verts over to your main bedsheet geo, and then into the geometry itself to essentially "make it dissappear" should hopefully do the trick. I have seen some rogue geo when using deformers and nCloth type tools, while usually user error at some point as said before, its also just a set of tools that can…
Is it happening with just this mesh or any? Try making a plane with some divisions an nCloth using the same steps you've been doing. Did your sheets have any crazy history or proxies set up prior to being an ncloth?
This is a really old thread I know, but In case anyone encounters this problem, just select the object in the outliner. Once there, right click the object and select the shapes option. Should be self explanatory from there
You shouldn't delete it in the outliner it will fuck things up, you can delete the attribute in the ncloth menu. delete history before you turn it into an ncloth mesh.
