Visually, it holds up..gameplay wise, I'm a big traditionnalist. Seeing how they mold every rpg into full real-time action is not something I like. This looks like a FF XV clone. I'm really appreciative of the classic turn based gameplay (my faved FF was X since everthing was so simple and straight forward).. I think it's…
episodic approach is much more make sense. since htey aimed to have as many feature as possible just like the original ff, even more feature than before. SQE acknowledge their main weakness : too long to develop. this is their solution to release title faster without sacrificing the quality.
Sonicblue, as much as I like FF 12 visuals and universe, the battle system was well thought when put on paper but sadly became boring onto execution. I'll tell you; the gambit automatic action system ruined it. It came quickly to the point where, my character would directly approach an enemy and start doing the required…
People are making assumptions nothing more. "oh they are going to cut the story down" why? Who said that? Maybe they are really going with the "1 disc 1 episode system". Content that was in episode 1 is not gone in Episode 2 (if the prior episodes are mandatory) But every episode can just add new stuff while towns stay…
whatever happens..it is still one freaking huge letdown... Square has changed so much these past year. Frankly, their downhill started with ps3-360 era. Hell, most japanese companies started degrading themselves from that gen (Capcom, Sega, Konami, etc.) My SNES/ps1/ps2 game collection is like 80% japanese games and fifty…
Despiete how much love is for FFVII i didn't like it that much, but this looks quite amazing i'll definetely give it a try. It's awesome to see the Final Fantasy universe come to live with new tech, i can't wait to see more remakes for the VIII and IX.
turn based FFX was the best they ever did IMO. i ate fingernails during those boss battles. it all went downhill after that one for me when they tried more mass market appeal. and they surely are not bringing that style of gameplay back, are they. thankfully, there's still persona with a modernized take on turn based. :)
Gameplay looks like FF13 + FF15... Not sure if I actually like that or not... I wouldn't want to just control 1 character and hacking and slashing around. To me, the fun lies in using appropriate characters for the appropriate tasks at appropriate time. "Barret, use Limit Break on THAT one, not the other one. Aerith, use…
