+1 to 4790K and a LGA 1150 mobo/DDR3 - the ram and mobo will be cheaper without much difference in performance. You'll probably save somewhere around $900 or so by switching from the 5960x to the 4790K. You can pocket that money, or put some of it into a better GPU like a 970 or 980, which will help with GPU heavy apps…
