My attempt at the wood planks challenge. Haven't figured out how to put in the long cracks that some of the boards have in the ref but here it is right now.
This is one of the most inspiring threads purely because so many artists are making their own version of that same thing, and it confirms whether or not I'm doing it right!
Jerc, your .sbs link doesn't work. When I click it, it's just a page of text. Edit: Nevermind, I swear I tried right clicking it yesterday and it was giving me the option to save as a .txt file.

@WarrenM, I disagree, even though it would be nice to be able to zoom in. but when everything is framed you can at least see how the different layer of details are tought. wich is often less easy than to just choose the right node.
Been experimenting with the rock texture and find it too chaotic/organic to replicate procedurally. If anyone can demonstrate how to get the rock layering right in the heightmap, I'd be glad! Anyway he's Day 1 attempt of Week 8. Looking too soft/sandy IMO.
