Im trying to get the stone texture on the distance node and cannot blend it. I need the texture to be different across all the stones to look like they are are all seperate rocks. I have attached the sbs file with dependencies. Any help would be greatly apprecated. SBS File…
Thanks for your suggestion aelwine, I cannot make it work. On the graph below, the top row of nodes you see i did what you sugested and i got this strange result. on the second row of nodes i added the edge detect and the passed through the directional warp and achieved a better results though cannot see separate stones.
you should plug the one on the bottom, the one right before the edge detect node to your warp. The warp nodes work by taking the pixel value of the input and moving them in the direction you want (a pure black will not move, a white 100% in the direction you set, and a 50% grey, 50% of the direction) so you need flat…
[Blur HQ] after the edge node + [level] or [Gradient Map] or [Histogram Scan] after it and before you blend it into your stone color. the point is to remove the aliasing by bluring the line and bringing back the sharpness of the lines by increasing the contrast.
I can't access you file (I'm at work now) but if you've a distance map with variation of grey, plug your photo texture on a directional wrap node, with your distance map as the bottom input. with a strong intensity and a angle set above 45 degrees it should give you what you want.
Excellent, worked perfectly. Also im not sure how to make the joints have a sandy material. Thanks aelwine. See the square blocks this is what i would like to make. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi aelwine, Thanks for your help works great. One thing have a look at the joints between the stone, how do i get the lines to be smooth, see attached you can see the pixels. Is there a way to smoothen them?
