I'm willing to bet Yuri can draw better than I can. And I don't think I'm the worst illustrator to be an artist. I agree that talent is difficult to quantify and that arguing about it is moot which is why I suggested OP post some 2d and 3d work he has done.

It's been a while since this thread was bumped so I don't think anyone is arguing that you should draw because you're going to have to make concepts but because it's a foundation skill that helps in all forms of visual art. some people have a knack for concepting, but others, which I include myself are good at observational drawing( whether that is in 3d or 2d ) I not sure if that is to do with visual memory I have a good imagination ,but maybe it's just easier to realise other peoples visions sometimes, which is what 3/4 of characters…
