Thanks for the feedback and the love for side scroll bars :) I add the rest of the maps, scale the buttons, include a more option icon (3 lines on the top left corner on the Normal Button), clear button and preset section. It's a little hard to read the description of the buttons but I wouldn't be a problem on full screen…
Shrike, thats sexy :D I think "Use preset slot" would make more sense as a drop down with a save, load and delete (buttons) presets options. Will allow for naming them and uses the space better. Also less of a limit in how many you can have.
Yeh it probably should be there, but I kind of just stuck it where I had space. I agree with a preset dropdown, would be more useful, along with a save preset button too. Also, in the bake queue window, those items should be like xml files or whatever and not model files :P
If I opened up x-normal and it looked like shrike's I would literally shit my pants. I absolutely hate the layout that xnormal has mostly because of the gigantic buttons and unused space it takes on my screen. That said.. Its free so... i can't complain too much.
As far as I'm concerned oldschool beveled buttons will always be the best choice for technical software. Sure, they may not be super stylish, and don't follow design trends from last few years - but they add clarity that flat color stuff just doesn't have. This is precisely why I find handplane interface more appealing…
I guess it's quite a common feeling to want to redesign xNormal :p I'm quite likeing m4dcow version so far and I've always imagined it quite similar to that. Some points I wanted it to have were: - Horizontal menu on the top side. - Exposed maps settings and a quicker way to access meshes options (just like you have it) -…
Good points The green boxes definitely dont have enough contrast, and I was wondering about the yellow ones aswell Tick boxes as tick boxes ? You mean having a checkmark instead of a dot ? I do not really see how it communicates the menu hierarchy due to the contrast, its pretty randomly arranged, but it easier to find…
Hm now looking back at the tread, I felt not satisfied with my design and response dosnt seem to good either so I went back and simplified some more and made things clearer, buttons physical better spacing etc Edit: more contrast now Anyone even liking the colors ? Its pretty nature-ish, like it tho, but kinda unusual…
I didn't say I wasn't using flat design just that how it is used seems pleasing to us now but may not be down the line. I find that flat design initially went way too minimalist, and like you say it is easing back since it had implications when it came to interfaces where flat design would make things more difficult for a…
