A Dota recap of polycount work in the workshop would be really awesome. Could have links to the workshop page, as well as the WIP thread. It' would totally help raise awareness of what's been going on, and add in some awesome greentooth votes to our workshop entries. Even could be a highlighted tutorial or thread to keep…
I think that we could maybe archive this thread, then split it up into two, like "WAYWO 2014 Dota 2 Edition - WIP and Critique" and "Dota 2 Workshop Releases and Showcases". The first one for progress pics, general critiques, feedback and suggestions, then the second one dedicated to Workshop links and finished item…
On the idea of aggregating content/automatic galleries/showcasing, etc. We met with Valve last week to talk about accessing this very information, direct from the Workshop. They wrote us an API just for this very thing, which we will be taking full advantage of on the new website. With this API, we'll be able to: * Single…
officially linking my steam and polycount profiles would be AWESOME - the wealth of functionality that could deliver is fantastic. I'd also love (along with everybody else) for polycount to help all of our submissions gain visibility (both in the workshop and in the larger polycount community). and exploit Polycount's…
Perhaps a Dota 2 or standalone weekly/biweekly workshop related feature (instead of the 'what are your working on') would be really nice IMO. Workshop stuff requires a lot of marketing considering the amount of great entries, and I think it would help offer a lot of needed exposure, especially to new artists getting into…
I'm going to second Sukotto on this. Not really a fan. I think theres too many variables to say that there is a guaranteed formula yet for the workshop so the profit is out the window. As far as the info I think there is a ton of great information out there, and that that first workshop entry should be special, it should…
We could have some separate threads, one in the vein of WAYWO, for progress, critique and stuff like that, and another one dedicated to releases, final showcases and workshop links.
I wouldn't mind seeing a tad more love for TF2 either. Sure it's getting older and a lot of people are losing interest (I am jumping over to dota to try to improve my skills and start to sculpt) but once it got moved into the sub-forum it's crickets over there. Don't forget, we have a contribute tag for TF2 workshop as…
That's great! If you;d like to kick start threads like that, feel free! Drop the URL's in here and I can get them stickied. Where does the current Dota 2 Workshop thread fit in to that? http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100016
Oh, I understand how the process of the workshop goes, I think that introducing %'s and submitting items in a mentor/student fashion just isn't the proper way to go about learning in this setting and it would probably just confuse end goals and make things weird. Like it's been said, we all don't mind helping for free so…
