Hey man, not sure if this has already been answered but: Who do you use for the 3d printing? do you print with casting/molding in mind or do you just straight print? What difficulties have you had to overcome with the printing process? For example, have you had to beef up things like fingers/hair so they print correctly?
Too bad, this is great work otherwise and these could be so much nicer with a realistic bust. I've had a few models printed in sandstone and I agree, those beachballs will probably give you trouble when 3d printed. Printing in plastic shouldn't be a problem but the sandstone has to be lowered into a bath of glue and…
you slowely build up a collection of them on your desk :D:D usually when my prints look badly finished, since my printing company claims to do a final finish (like some sort of sanding idk waht they rly do) and it looks too rough ill just send them back... since 3d printing is so new a lot of companies still think they can…
Hey guys, it's me again ^^. Here are my latest works in 3D printing... Scratch is making a test print for Red, which will be available as a diorama with the first Syx and some props : Arvalis got the print of his dragon girl Naera. Came out pretty good ( 15cm ) : And two other characters I did for commissions :
If you seperated the tail and printed her lying on her back, you should be able to get away with it. Could always split her on the underwear seam if that makes her too long to print.
Admittedly I've only printed models in detail, ultra detail plastics and white strong & flexible, but from what they say on the material's page, sandstone is like wet sand during the printing process.
Some progress, with a more defined jawline and bigger eyes. I'll finish the expression once posed though. I wonder if they will be able to print the inside of the "dress", I know it's hard to print a cavity and overlapped stuff, right ?
Most of the time my clients use Shapeways. One or two of them had to rely on an Austrian private company to print adult stuff that Shapeways refused to print. And yes I always have to adapt the characters so the thin parts are printable, that's why most of them have a closed hand, on hand on hips, etc. The Syx figurine I…
Sandstone is THAT fragile ? Well I told my client they were too big, he still wanted them bigger, not really my problem, he will find out when he print it, after I'm getting paid... Could it be printed in other materials ?
